JOB TITLE:
Food Services Worker (Substitute)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrate aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities.
- Good personal hygiene.
- The ability to read and comprehend written directions.
- Such alternatives or additional qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate.
REPORTS TO:
Food Services - Head Cook and Director of Food Services
JOB GOAL:
To prepare and serve meals to students and staff that meet government standards for health and nutrition.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare food according to recipes as required by the menu schedule.
- Maintain food at proper serving temperatures as required by health department standards.
- Maintain proper sanitation of food preparation and serving areas.
- Serve meals to students, staff, and guests.
- Wash and sanitize all dishes and utensils used in the preparation, serving areas, and consumption of food.
- Perform cashier duties when assigned.
- Clean and sanitize the kitchen, serving areas, and equipment at the end of each day.
- Attend seminars and workshops when requested.
- Complete all assigned duties in an orderly and timely fashion according to supervisors’ directions.
- Upon completion of assigned duties, assist co-workers with any duties or tasks that are not yet complete.
- Assume such other duties as assigned by supervisor or administrative personnel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- An individual who holds this position must have the ability to:
- Frequently walk short distances.
- Continuously stand.
- Frequently bend or twist at the neck and torso.
- Continuously grip.
- Occasionally reach, stoop, kneel and crouch.
- Frequently lift ten pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally work in temperatures that exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Work in an environment that is frequently quite loud and may require employees to raise voices to be heard.
- There is a greater than average risk of minor burns and cuts.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary, work day, and year to be established by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
